Happy Indoor Pets is a practical indoor pet care publication. We cover dogs, cats, small pets (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds), pet wellness, training, enrichment, and the pet-friendly home setup that makes apartment and indoor living work for both animals and humans.
What we are, and aren’t
We are pet owners, writers, and editors working with veterinarians, certified trainers (CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP), and animal behaviourists. We are not a substitute for in-person veterinary care. For any pet health concern, contact your veterinarian. For emergencies, call the emergency vet immediately.
Our priorities, in order
- Animal welfare first. If a technique works but stresses or harms pets, we won’t recommend it.
- Vet-reviewed where it matters. Articles on health, nutrition, or anxiety are reviewed by a licensed veterinary professional.
- Realistic for indoor and apartment life. Most pet content assumes a yard; most readers don’t have one.
- Honest about effort. Indoor pets need more enrichment than outdoor pets. We name the time commitment.
- Updates. Veterinary guidelines and behavioural science evolve.
